fred_darling's "Books & Film Adaptations"

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is an AMAZING book, one of my favorites. And I love John Cusack, but even he (and an appearance by a younger Jude Law) can’t save this movie. It just doesn’t work. The “female love interest” is in the film version despite the fact that the real main character/author is gay. The quirkiness of the city and all the characters is what makes the book so great but all of that gets lost in the film.
