Monumental mystery movie. Edmond O’Brien plays a man who finds he has been poisoned and there is no hope for survival. He searches for his killer. The characters are all well drawn, even if some are over the top. What makes this is the masterful way the protagonist, Bigelow, is written. He carries human flaws so easy to identify with, and yet possesses the inner nobility that makes him worth caring about.
