Cinema Seekers: 400 Greatest Films of Art and Spirituality

I’ve been meaning to dig up this list for years. What I like most about it is that the authors’ definition of ‘spiritual’ is clearly more intellectual or philosophical, rather than generic or dogmatic. In fact, there are a couple of films that raise the brows here (e.g., How is Arsenal spiritual?), and some of the most obvious choices are left for later in the list.

Not much Eastern spirituality, though.

Of course, I also like the preponderance of Russian/Soviet films!
