William Faulkner did not use his winnings to create the award in 1980 – or to do anything else in 1980, as he had been dead for quite a while.

This situation has not changed in the past year:

William Faulkner died in 1962, from which time he became very unproductive, founding no awards whatsoever in the eighteenth years of his death.
