Well, the list options available do not seem to reach the South Hams. Here is an area with fantastic food (Sharpham wine, Riverford cream, south devon breed of beef and Dartmouth crabs) and scenery (river Dart, Dartmoor, Totnes and Blackpool Sands). So Plymouth was the nearest option. I agree that Plymouth is a skanky city awaiting rejuvenation but is held back by the lack of forethought endemic in Devon Councils.
