Thanks for this list! I am glad that someone seems to be making a new list, and not using the update to destroy the old list as has happened in the past.
Anyway, surely #6 can’t be the entire Godfather trilogy?

The whole point of this list is that it is constantly evolving. The canon of film is not a static body.

cfrydj, rest assured, I haven’t any naive notions about any kind of artistic canon being fixed or established by a set group of individuals forever. That said, droves of us have been working our way through the old TSPDT lists, and while most of us, I am sure, enthusiastically welcome each year’s new variant, we still want to continue working through the lists we’ve been working on for years. Why would anyone want to destroy the old lists?
Fair enough, but...
...the point of this copy of the list is to maintain a static copy for the record. How this is used is beyond my control – I’m just trying to create a resource that will not change in the coming years.

Yes, thanks, sarmatianus, for making a static list. I think cfrydj and I have resolved our differences, and I believe you have presented the solution: I’ll try to go back and recreate static lists for past years, just as you have now done for 2008.
