They Shoot Pictures, Don't They - The 1000 Greatest Films (December 2006 edition)

Whoa, hold up! — 47 weeks ago

Are you sure you’re using the December 2006 version and not the March 2006 one?

The one I am using I got from listology and it says December, 2006 at the top. Is my source incorrrect?

Possibly. I’m using the Wayback Machine’s archive of the actual site as it appeared on March 3, 2007. I’m guessing that’s the more reliable one…

PS – You didn’t change anything pre-600, did you?

No, no, I didn’t change anything. I just added on. I take it some films I added differed from your list? I didn’t see any differences myself; I checked to see that your list seemed to match mine before I started to add.

Well, I see that you’ve just added Safe and The Swimmer at a later point in the list than I had them, so obviously there are differences. I wonder why my list is labeled Dec, 2006 if it isn’t? Or could it be that TSPDT updated again in March of 2007?

Anyway, I was trying to assist (as you know, I am very appreciative to have these past lists), but I hope I didn’t hinder more than help.

And my list had The Wind Will Carry Us coming after The Dead, but I assume you’ve deleted that as it’s not at that ranking on your list. In general, though, as I begin to compare the current 600-700 to my list, it’s nearly identical, with only about four or five films in different spots.

I am confused, so I suppose I’ll step aside and let you work. You’re much faster than I am anyway. ;0)

No, my archived page specifically says it’s the Dec 06 update, so that’s unlikely. I guess they used to update the list more frequently…
