Films 101 Top Films Ranking
Updated the list — 40 weeks ago
I checked the list source at films101.com and noticed that a lot had changed so I updated it to reflect the current list (Feb. ‘09). The ranking order had changed significantly and I also had to delete some titles and add a few new ones.
It seemed that we were keeping it at 101 titles so that’s where I stopped. There are actually 102 films though, because #35 and #36 are actually tied for 35th place (The Conformist and Dr. Strangelove).
One thing did bother me though when I was checking the source website. When you click on ‘Top Films’ (http://films101.com/5starr.htm ), you are presented with a list of 500 films instead of 100 or 101. If anyone would like, I wouldn’t mind adding the other films to more accurately reflect the source. I decided not to do that on my own, though because I didn’t want to make too many changes without community approval.

Hey thanks for updating the list :) My vote is to keep this list current at 101 films and make a copy to take the list further.
Keeping it short will likely ensure that it is updated more often (updating a list of 500 can be rather daunting)
Films further down the list are likely to change often and I for one am not looking to watch all 500.

I’d love to see the full list up here. Is there a way to start a second list that just imports the first 101 from this?
