Dr. Peter Boxall's "1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die (2006 edition)"
How many a year? — 1 year ago
I read constantly but at 24 and 10% (8% on the newer one) this list seems a bit daunting any suggestions?

I don’t think it’s impossible. I’m 24 and at 10% as well. I just keep reading because I like to read, not because I want to finish the list. I use it as a suggestion list and to become better versed in literature.
Just relax and read for the joy of reading. Completion is not impossible, but it is also not necessary.

read to enjoy and to think – if you’re reading just to complete a list you’ll miss the reasons for reading these books and you’ll lose out on the joy and purpose of good literature
You CAN finish if that’s your goal but you must know your reading speed and also figure out if you’ve got enough years left. I’m at 26% and figure it will take me around five more years to finish. I have the good luck to have a 40 minute bus ride twice a day, four days a week so that helps me get a lot of reading done. If you are daunted by the task, try to read at least one book by an author and skip his/her other works until you’ve read one by everyone.
I disagree about the quality; I am determined to finish and I still enjoy every book, or at least remember if I didn’t like it at all.
