Feminista!'s "100 Great 20th Century Works of Fiction by Women"
Untitled — 6 years ago
i can’t believe that ayn rand is down at number 74. And also that like so many people seem to do, Atlas Shrugged is ignored in favor of the Fountainhead. Both are wonderful, and while Rand’s political views could be construed as slightly insane, she is certainly an important figure in modern feminist literature.

Well the list is alphabetical by author’s last name. And “could be construed as slightly insane”? um, yeah, just a little. But you’re right that she’s still important.
I can't believe she's on the list at all!
An important feminist? I don’t think that any objectivist would agree with this label since it implies that Rand’s perception of reality would have been filtered through feminist perspcetive, and that would be quite subjective…
What’s more, a close feminist critique of her writing finds that Rand is at best a male chauvinist pig. The only way her writing can be considered of any importance at all, is if it’s used as an example to all future would-be authors of how not to write fiction.
