Andrej Gregov's "Top cities on the Dalmatian Coast, Croatia"

Here’s what I would do. Fly into Split, the capital of the Dalmatian Coast. Stay there one day and tour the Diocletian’s Palace (in the old city). Then take a ferry to the Island of Hvar. Hvar is super trendy these days. It’s kind of like the Monaco of Croatia. Stay there a few days and enjoy some nightlife and swimming. Then get back on the ferry and head to Korcula. It’s a marvalous small town and is thought to be the birth place of Marko Polo. Stay here a day. If you’re a wind surfer, you might stay a second day. There’s excellent wind surfing hear by. Again, get back on the ferry and head towards your final destination, Dubrovnik. You’ll want to stay here about three days. I’d recommend trying to find somewhere to stay inside the wall. There’s lots of folks that rent out their flats. Any hotel inside the wall will be way too expensive. Try to find some locals to rent from. But you really need to make your reservations right away to get inside-the-wall housing. Then fly out and head to Greece. Depending on your time, an optional destination would be visiting Bol on the island of Brac. Bol has a resort with one of Croatia’s only sand beaches. If you want to visit Bol, that would be your first ferry stop from Split. After, you’d head to Hvar and so on. I’d recommend these towns for any first visitor to the coast. There’s a lot more north, but this is the best of the best for a first time visit.
