Why read A Million Little Pieces when the author has admitted that much of his so-called autobiography is “fiction”?

no idea, I wouldn’t but apparently there are some who would.

Does the fact that it’s fiction have to matter about your willingness to read it? Yeah, okay so he lied. But basically, the story is what you’re in it for.

Why read “Pride and Prejudice”, “The Great Gatsby”, or something of the like? They are all fiction as well. While I believe that what the author did is wrong, I do not believe that it in anyway affects the actual story that the book presents. It’s all fiction.

Reprehensible...

Speaking as a person who has actually experienced addiction and recovery, I was appalled. Some of my fellow “consumers” seem to think that our approaching the book as a work of fiction somehow makes it OK that the author perpetrated an offensive hoax on the people who bought into his lies, and certainly the millions of people who are in recovery, when he presented it as his true life story. I don’t believe he should be rewarded with sales.

Hi Buddhalou, I couldn’t agree with you more!
