The whole Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper is terrific. I read all of them when I was in my early thirties – I still think children’s books are some of the best we have.

I totally agree with you regarding “The Dark Is Rising” sequence! I am a teacher, and I want to read them to my class, so that they can love them as much as I do!
