but I have to say, that the Redemption of Althalus was the worst book I ever read. (It’s tied with one other, but I read the other one as a “promotional” e-book, one hopes it was never published). This is coming from someone who has read the entire Belgariad by David Eddings at least 15 times growing up.

I do think think the first three books in Jordan’s Wheel of Time ARE worth reading of themselves, but voted them “not worth consuming” as you will want to continue reading the series and will be pulling out your own hair and rending your flesh somewhere between book 5-9 …
