Here’s some ideas for more so we can get you to 100…
- Throw together a superhero costume and ride around your city on a bike looking for heroic things to do, such as helping old ladies to cross the street and helping folks find their way around the local library.
- Grab a partner and a friz and look for lawns in your neighborhood that are spacious and unobstructed. Play frizbee in several such yards and determine which is the best. Leave an award in the mailbox of the homeowner congratulating them on an “excellent frizbeeable lawn”.
- Start a zine.
- Strap empty paint buckets on your shoes and walk around taller.
- Take a homeless guy out to lunch and find out about his life.
- Eat a watermellon and save the seeds and plant a garden.

i was a student starving for entertainment
So I used to come up with stuff like this with my college boyfriend. We had a long list of things to do, though I don’t know what became of the list and I don’t remember much of it. But those days were good exercise in the art of creative cheap fun.
How about some money-making suggestions…
Go to the post office mid-day and stand in line and when you’re almost to the front of the line auction off your standing to the highest impatient bidder.
Put a quarter in the newspaper machine and take out all the papers. Then stand on a busy corner like an old-time paper peddler and call out the headlines. “Extra, extra!”
Stand at a freeway on-ramp with a sign that says, “Take me with you and you can use the carpool lane!”
