I first read this book in high school – unfortunately I don’t remember exactly when – and I immediately loved it. It was very inspirational to me – it made me wanted to do a better job of everything because Johnny was so good, so smart – just such a good person and his parents were phenomenal. Now being a parent, I realize just how phenomenal they were. I see a lot of the same qualities in Johnny’s parents that I see in mine and realize how lucky I am.
