Thanks for this list. I’m wondering if you are planning to add Everyman and perhaps some of the other miracle/morality plays.

Nice one…I love Everyman! Thanks for the suggestion. (I didn’t add it in the first place because I’m an early medieval snob and didn’t think of it.) Do you have any suggestions for morality plays? I don’t know much about them, just the York mystery plays.

I have a collection which includes the York plays. There’s also one from Chester called “The Harrowing of Hell”. There are also a couple from the N. town cycle: Cain and Abel and The Woman Taken in Adultery. These and the others are referred to as biblical pageants. The book is entitled: Everyman and Medieval Miracle Plays. Edited by A.C. Cawley.
