I don’t understand the exclusion of sequels since Children of the Corn 666:Isaacs Return, The Two Jakes, 2010: The Year We Make Contact, Blues Brothers 2000 are all sequels. Do you mean excluding sequels using the symbols 2,3,4… in their titles? That would make sense. But these should be considered since they are unique sequel titles as well:

102 Dalmatians
28 Weeks Later

I think the thinking was that if all the movies with sequels were added the list would be so long that it would become unmanageable and unable to be finished.

But perhaps all sequels should be removed even the ones you mentioned…Not sure there is a perfect solution though.
