Very disappointing list from The Guardian. Far too much recent dross and numerous major international classics missing. Their former critic Derek Malcolm would have done a much better and more interesting job

Agreed.
A very silly list on the whole, and a typical example of the mentality creeping into so many aspects of formerly intellectual spheres: i.e., that pandering to recent mediocrities, especially pop culture mediocrities, somehow makes you open-minded, hip, and cutting-edge in a vaguely post-modern sense. The reality is this is simply yet another dumbed-down list.
