I’m crossing my fingers that I finish 60 this year and you’re already up to 83! Did you like Behind the Scenes at the Museum? It’s one of my all-time favorites; I love Atikinson’s writing, although I’m not crazy about the direction it has taken of late.

Thanks for the comment. I loved Behind the Scenes and I’ve purchased Human Croquet but not yet read it. Did you read that one? Where do you think she started to go "off’?
By the way, my two infants are all grown up – I’m sure I have more reading time than you do!
Also, I remember your comment about Jude the Obscure and I concur, though, as you see, I’m also hooked on mysteries!
Human Croquet is really good. I also read Emotionally Weird which has that same kind of quirky style but isn’t as good, imo. If you like mysteries you might enjoy her Case Histories because its about a detective who is looking into these cold cases. It’s a good read, but really different from her previous work. I felt it was lacking in the originality of her previous work, when you can never really know what is going to happen. That’s the reason I haven’t read One Good Turn, which is about the same detective, but I’ll probably end up giving it a try.
