Academy Award Winners - Best Picture

Sunrise is available in a set of four best picture winners. You have to buy the set to get it, but it was only $20 on dvdplanet. Sunrise alone was well worth it. I have a copy of Wings that I bought on Ebay for $6. It was a Chinese release(not bootleg). It had Chinese subtitles across the bottom evey time the intertitles came up, but othewise, it was a great print. I’ve seen similar offers for The Last Emperor on ebay as well. I’ve never seen Calvalcade anywhere. Your best bet for it is probably waiting for it to air on TCM.

If you’re willing/able to watch movies on VHS, you could check your local libraries . . . if you haven’t already, that is. Libraries where I live (Oklahoma City) have Cavalcade, Wings, and the Last Emperor available to check out on VHS. Your libraries might even have DVD copies.

I’ve seen “Cavalcade” VHS tapes on e-Bay for $5, shipping included. Also, I’ve seen Chinese subtitled DVDs of Cavalcade on e-Bay for $10 or less.

Quite a few DVDs of “The Last Emperor” are currently up on e-Bay.

Not to insult your inteligence but AI get a lot of these type movies form library. amazing somtimes what they have available

The Last Emperor is coming out on DVD (Criterion!) in February 2008.
