Well, i’d say check off the ones you’ve heard- trouble is, does then giving up on something or being reasonably familiar without hearing it through count?

I do what I own, it’s the easiest to quantify.

It depends on what you want to accomplish. If you like building libraries then ownership is good. I would guess the spirit of the site is more focused on “consuming” vs ownership. I can see the value in at least getting exposure to the content on lists like these.

I own 2/3’s of these and most of the top 100. I don’t own the rap and country albums.

I think that you should check all the ones you’ve heard. I’m doing just that. Nobody expects you to own these 500 albums. And yes, the percentage of your albums on the list would be much smaller.
