A useful list, but where’s Killer of Sheep, widely considered a classic? And if the excellent Moolaadé is included, why not more from Africa, e.g Yeelen; or if City of God,why not others from Brazil?

Yes, nice list, but
Moolade and City of God are obviously not African-American. I suggest you either change the title to black films and get a lot more globally inclusive, or get rid of the two movies that don’t currently belong.
Also, what about Sounder or early so-called race pictures, such as Within Our Gates? Or recent films like George Washington?
