Q Magazine's "(Readers Poll) Greatest 100 Albums of All Time (2003 list)"
This list is bollocks — 3 years ago
I can list dozens of reasons why this list is a joke at best (a felony at worst), but I will summarize by stating that its author is obviously a pathetic little pot-head who never got over the first half of the nineties, and must have inherited Q magazine from his UK-centric family. I’m sure the music critics at Q have been exposed to hundreds, if not thousands of pop records, certainly reams more than I have. So why couldn’t they create a list of “best” records deserving of the title?

It was a READERS’ poll
The list description clearly indicates the list was generated by a poll of Q magazine’s readers in January 2003.
I doubt the magazine’s critics edited the list at all. I’m sure they merely compiled the readers’ responses.
Apparently it’s really the pathetic pot-head can’t-get-over-the-90s readers of Q magazine who deserve your ire.

My Bad
The title didn’t clearly state that. I’ll read the fine print next time. If my criticism seems too harsh, take into account that Lists Of Bests is a bit more competitive than other Robot Co-Op sites; the concept loans itself to snobbery (whether intentional or not). I’ll try to take it with a grain of salt if you do.
And uh, if it wasn’t clear, Q is a British magazine and mostly covers the culture popular in Great Britain.
Your original comment: “must have inherited Q magazine from his UK-centric family.”
Don Nunn didn’t mention that it was a British magazine. That’s all.

T’is true. When I made my original post, the title didn’t specify that the list was a reader’s poll, either (it was originally buried in the description, which I take responsibility for not having read). Anyhow, no hard feelings were meant to anyone personally; I’m a bit baffled as to why the interwebs are angry at me for insulting a list they did not compile themselves. It’s really no big deal, just seemed a little odd that Mr. Nunn felt the need to tear me a new one over the issue.
Appologies to you, verde_gamine.
