The list has been restored to its anachronistic Top 10 12-item list. Although you may not agree with the list, this is based on The Guardian’s list. Please leave it alone. If you prefer, make your own personal Top 10 (or 12!) list rather than mucking up this one.
Come on, Guardian; i know sci-fi genre includes many blockbusters but there should be something here not in English!
I think we need a New List, a proper one. “Top 25 Sci-Fi Movies” seems a decent amount to me, but leaves plenty of room for debate.

I would agree that this list is just a list by someone or someones who set it up… I can think of other movies that should probably be in the top ten that are not. I seen “The day the earth stood still” good movie for its time. This completed this list for me. Was worth seeing to say I have seen it. Was interesting to see Francis Bavier (Aunt Bee) and Billy Gray (Bud from Father Knows best) in the film.
Was neat to see the monuments in tehfilm and what they looked like in 1952…

I liked the time machine. Original movie.. Not sure if it would be top 10 or if it is really sci fi?

Agreed – FORBIDDEN PLANET is a must for any Sci Fi list. The music, the storyline, its too good not to be on the list.
PRIMER – one of the best time travel movies, whether or not it goes in the Sci Fi category is questionable.

This movie is so overlooked. I know the sequal went straight to video but the first one was refreshing.
Whoever thinks that Blade Runner is superior to 2001 is a fool. Anyone with an iota of aesthetic sense can discern that 2001 is unmatched.

The list is “worthless” without it. And leaving off Plan 9 from Outer Space definitely shows a severe lack of considering “alternative” movies.
isn’t this supposed to be Guardian’s top 10 sci-fi films?
