Wine Varietals
Beyond the usual cab and chardonnay, there are numerous grapes from which wines (incl. sparkling and fortified) are made. Using Oz Clarke’s wonderful Encyclopedia of Grapes as a guide, this list may turn out to be quite lengthy. That said, I will start with the varietals I have knowingly consumed, either solo or as a blend. Many varietals go by more than one name (i.e. Grenache, Garnacha, etc.), so I will try to be careful and not duplicate – however feel free to edit in case I mess up. For now, cheers!
