Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards Best Picture

The Los Angeles Film Critics Association ("LAFCA") was founded in 1975. Its main purpose is to present yearly awards to members of the film industry who have excelled in their fields. These awards are presented each January. Because of the promptness of the award presentation, right after the end of the year, the LAFCA awards and the Golden Globe Awards are seen as significant in presaging the winners of the Academy Awards, which are the United States film industry’s biggest and most prestigious awards and are presented each year in March.
