The Well-Stocked Bookcase (Book of the Month Club)

Add to my lists | Print this list

Sixty novels, published between 1926 and 1986, whose, according to the Book of the Month Club editorial board, "impact still endures — novels that have changed how we Americans talk, think, write, feel and see ourselves." The Book of the Month Club chose to compile a list of 60 books in celebration of the club’s 60th anniversary.

The list is in chronological order. Trilogies are listed as one book, by the date of the first volume. Two of the trilogies are available in one-volume editions and are listed as such. For Trees/Land/Town by Conrad Richter, only the first volume is listed.
