seriously - don't take the classes — 5 years ago

my undergrad university career is almost over (sniff) and if i’ve learned one thing, it’s that if you hate the textbook, don’t take the class! cause you’re going to have to READ that sucker.

if the textbook looks dry and dull, the class probably will be too. the best profs combine good lectures with interesting and well-chosen readings.

there’s an exception here if a class is a mandatory pre-req. but, a secret: profs don’t actually care about mandatory pre-reqs and will let you take the class anyways (for example, i skipped the “mandatory” international relations 100 class that was oh-so-boring and went straight to the cool IR classes.
