100 Hindi Movies You Must See
It’s not a list of the greatest movies. It is about movies that represent our times. Movies that were significant in one way or the other and defined the cinema for Hindi viewers. Movies that one assumes every movie lover would have seen. Movies that are essential viewing if you intend to discuss Hindi cinema meaningfully. Movies that are good cinema nevertheless.
I have limited myself to post-independence (post-1947) period for several reasons. If I had to include that period though, some of the movies that I would choose are achhoot kanyaa, qismat, daa.cTar koTaniis kii amar kahaanii, pukaar, and sika.ndar.
