Filmsite.org's "Most Controversial Films Of All Time"

Add to my lists | Print this list
The following illustrated list in the next few web pages, in unranked alphabetical order, presents a solid collection of the most controversial films in cinematic history.

Note: Entertainment Weekly’s June 16, 2006 issue contained a listing of their top 25 "Most Controversial Movies of All-Time". That list is included here; however, this list is an expansion of the EW list.

Updated the list — 5 years ago

I updated the list from the filmsite.org site which has been updated recently to include some new titles. There were four: Dirty Harry, Lolita (Lynne’s version, now both are on it), Men Behind the Sun (aka Hei tai yang 731), and September Dawn [Edit: now out on DVD, Jan 08].

I just copied the intro from my list source. It says this list includes the top 25 of Entertainment Weekly’s “Top 25 of Most Controversial Films of All Time”, you can find this list here too. The list is not finished, I’m gonna finish it tomorrow.

Anyway, I forgot to mention my list source also, that’s http://www.filmsite.org/controversialfilms.html

I’m sorry, it’s my first list I make here, I’m still learning…

Why are there 35 titles? — 6 years ago

In the description you say it’s the top 25…has someone been adding non-list entries?
