The CBC Massey Lecture Series
The Massey Lectures are co-sponsored by Massey College, in the University of Toronto And CBC Radio (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation).
The series was created in honor of the Rt. Hon. Vincent Massey, former governor-general of Canada, and was inaugurated in 1961 to enable distinquished authorities to communicate the results of original study or research on omportant subjects of contemporary interest.
The books in this series comprise the Massey Lectures of each year. There is a difference between lectures and books in exposition style and that is relected here in these transcripts which is closer to a lecture than a standard text prose…..in the case of each of those I have read, I was rivited by the arguments of the author… whether in line with my own beliefs or preconceptions or not, all but one has proven, in its own way, to be one of the most thought provoking books I have ever read….. I am now actively seeking out the rest on the list. DHC Soul.
