Combined Film Canon - 1930 / 1939Updated, Jul. 2009 The "Combined Film Canonï" is a list of 2,000 great movies, assembled by combining the "They Shoot Pictures Don’t They?" list of 1,000 movies and a "Doubling the Canon" list, created by participants on the IMDb Classic Film message board, which added an additional 1,000 great movies. The result is a list of 2,000 movies, which includes feature films, shorts, TV-movies, and TV mini-series. It does not include TV series or music videos. Because of its unwieldy size, the Combined Film Canon will be posted as nine lists: 1890-1929, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000-present. These lists will be updated regularly, as They Shoot Pictures and the Doubling the Canon project make revisions. On each of the nine Combined Film Canon lists, movies are first listed chronologically, and then alphabetically within the years. |
