I added a few films based on this list: http://entertainmentgeekly.wordpress.com/2008/03/05/what-is-the-highest-grossing-movie-directed-by-a-woman/

I did not try and re-order the list

what's considered "Top Grossing"? — 2 years ago

I would add films by Mira Nair – “Mississippi Masala” and “Monsoon Wedding” did pretty well.

“Bend it like Beckham” by Gurinder Chadha also did well.

“My Big Fat Greek Wedding” by Nia Vardalos was a runaway hit (though I don’t know box office take)
