US Box-Office All-Time Adjusted for Inflation

Add to my lists | Print this list

With rising ticket prices, recent films tend to do much better on "all-time box office" lists. When adjusted for inflation, we get a much better sense of the number of "eyeballs" that actually paid to see the film. (Who knew the cartoon 101 Dalmatians would get all the way to #11?)

Nitpicking... — 45 weeks ago

I know that’s what I’m doing, but if the list is of “Box Office” releases and revenue, why would one pick a DVD version of the movie to post? There are several versions for most of the films in here…try and add the one that makes most sense. Unless the list is about super special A-1 bonus features or something like that, why put the format up there…

I added The Dark Knight, Spider-Man 3 and Shrek the Third as per the boxofficemojo list. POTC: Dead Man’s Chest moved up one position as well.
