Why #30 — 3 years ago
Yeah, metal (especially the little subgenres obsessed with death and gore) is an easy target but this one manages to be misogynist and vomit inducing all at once. And if you think the cover’s nasty, the song titles suggest it only gets worse inside! :)

I’m a fan of your lists but you are really coming up short with this one. So far, most of these are not nearly – not NEARLY – bad enough for inclusion in this dishonor roll. Some I even kinda like…and no WAY should the Louvin Brothers be here. That album (inside and out) is a cult classic, hilarious, a brilliant example of Christian music gone off the rails.

Ice T. cover? — 3 years ago
I’m trying to select albums across genres, but gangsta rap is just so predominately misogynistic, it’s hard to not just fill the list with those albums. Trying to only put the worst or most well known offenders.
Trying not to put more than 1 for an artist. Wasn’t sure whether to use ICE T’s “Rhyme Pays” (where her crotch is in his face) or “Power” w/ an equally scantily clad woman holding a gun/rife?.
I figured “Power” might be the better once since it references his power (and his pimp past) of sexually objectifying women. It also features a gun/rife? encouraging the violent aspects oif gangsta rap. It also seems to be glorifying the idea that the only way African American males can attain power is through the “gangsta” life.
Both contain equally offensive songs, though I think Rhyme Pays wins for “Somebody Gotta Do It: (Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy)”. Somehow I think exploiting women’s bodies for profit is probably a whole heck of a lot easier than being the prostitute!
(I feel the same disgust/anger about the ‘it’s a hard life being a pimp’ song from Hustle & Flow).

why the Queen cover? — 3 years ago
I can see why all the others are on this list, but not the QUEEN: Mystery album.

Decent album, awful cover — 3 years ago
Fleetwood Mac’s MYSTERY TO ME is actually a pretty decent CD, their best with Welch onboard for my money. It’s like a B-grade RUMOURS or WHITE ALBUM (this is what Mac fans call the self-titled album FLEETWOOD MAC).

"America will always stand" — 3 years ago
I couldn’t decide if the Randy Travis standing in front of the flag or the cover that proclaims “New Songs of the Civil War” with the artists shown over the flag and midwestern background was worse. Feel free to change if you think the other cover is a better example of jingoistic fervor.
