prolix's "books i'd like to read"
I’m a librarian. This is the list where I keep track of things I run into, or read reviews of, and want to read. I never make real statistical progress on it, because for every book I finish, six more find their way onto my desk.
I read young adult (YA) and children’s fiction, fantasy and sci-fi, non-fiction, contemporary fiction, short stories, biographies and memoirs, and the occasional graphic novel. Sometimes things find their way onto this list, not because I have particular enthusiasm for them, but because my curiosity has been sparked by a request from a library visitor. (Like Twilight, which is the most popular book in the world for some reason.)
Beginning in late March, 2006…
June, 2008: Landmark: 150 books read (some of them very short, but some of them also <Blindness>
Mid-March, 2009: 185 books read! That’s more than 61 books a year, 1.18 books a week…
Nov, 2009: 222 books read.
June 2010: 254 books read.
