Suite Francaise — 44 weeks ago

For some reason I just couldn’t get into this. I kept going until I reached about page 90 but just wasn’t getting with her writing style. This was a disappointment for me particuarly because of the circumstances in which she wrote this book.

Ulysses — 45 weeks ago

I reached the 200 page mark but still had 500 to go (1922 edition). It was difficult and I was struggling with the plot. Very disappointed in myself for not being able to finish it.

The Sultan's Seal — 1 year ago

I didn’t like the style or setting of this novel. Others I know have read it and enjoyed it but it wasn’t for me.

The Female Eunuch — 1 year ago

This was for a book group so I did try to read it. However I found it antiquated and difficult – too ‘university’ for my liking and I’ve been there done it so don’t want it in my reading. Dabbled in a few chapters but found writing style old.

The Origin of the Species — 1 year ago

I’m sure this is a great text. I bought this for studying but I didn’t need it in the end. Read the introduction and I’m afraid I knew this wouldn’t be for me. A great book I’m sure.

A Room With A View — 1 year ago

Sorry! After 5 chapters I quite frankly didn’t care what happened to the characters. Gave up!

Maps for Lost Lovers — 1 year ago

This was more like studying than reading. Abandoned after first part.

Watch Me Disappear — 1 year ago

Really could not get away with this! Didn’t even try to finish it!

Midnight's Children — 1 year ago

I tried so hard to read this but have now failed several times over the last 5 or 6 years. Time to put it down I think!
