Complete list — 1 year ago

I created a complete list, including his short movies, here: http://www.listsofbests.com/list/59864

Killer's Kiss — 1 year ago

While the films mentioned below aren’t very available to most on DVD, what many would argue IS his feature debut, “Killer’s Kiss” wasn’t on this list.

I have added it.

Kubrick's early stuff — 3 years ago

Fear and Desire is indeed a fictional war film. Day of the Fight and Flying Padre are “movie-reel” type doc shorts, but The Seafarers is more of a info film for members joining the union. In fact I believe it was privately commissioned and never really intended for any kind of release.

feature film vs. documentaries — 3 years ago

According to IMDBFear and Desire (1953) is a 68 minute feature length film, but these three are short documentaries:

  1. The Seafarers (1953) – 30 min
  2. Day of the Fight (1952) – 16 min
  3. Flying Padre (1951) – 9 min
