I lived here for 11 years. I raised my children in a foreign culture which I would not reccommend to anyone. It was an amazing experience. Beautiful country, honest down-to-earth people, quirky customs, museums I would give my left arm for here in the states, endless travel opportunities, and a great standard of living. On the flip side, what tourists see as “old world charm” translates into a very narrow-mindedness which is pretty hard for an American to take. Which means I got homesick and we moved back to the states.

In 1981 I moved to Tennessee with my boyfriend and young son. We eventualy had a daughter and got married. We were dirt poor, so he ended up joining the army to support us better. And as military life goes, we moved again…

Next we moved to WI right before I started school. Wow what a difference from Montana! When I was in 3rd grade we moved to Union Grove where I mad all my meaningful childhood friendships and all those important ” firsts” happened. I still consider Union Grove “home” even though I’ve lived in several places since.

I was born in Big Sky Country. When I was very young my mom belonged to a Women’s Club that had members from both the US and Canadian side of the border. No Homeland Security back then. We also had the first tv in the neighborhood, so according to what my parents told me, we were very popular :-)
