A collection of books, movies, and music that will immerse you in the world of the samurai. These are organized by category and then slightly weighted from my more favorites to least favorites. Items which I have yet to view/read/hear are at the bottom of each category.

Time for the Harder to Find Movies/TV — 2 years ago

I think I am officially through the easily acquired and more well known US movie and DVD releases. Time to track down some of the more rare gems.

To start off I’ve purchased these off Ebay:

bq. “Daredevil in the Castle”

“Tenchu (Hitokiri)”

“Heaven and Earth (TenTo ChiTo)”

*Ebay Store: * "Classic Samurai Movies ":http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Classic-Samurai-Movies-DVD__W0QQ_armrsZ1

Merchant Review:

High quality pirate copies. Sad. Oh well.

"The Last Princess" — 3 years ago

Looks like a remake of Hidden Fortress came out sometime ago. Hunting for info:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1134519/

http://www.kakushi-toride.jp/index.html

Excited!

Ok, was released in May of 08 and should be out on DVD in Decemeber. Will be looking to see if this gets region 0 or 1 for us yanks. :)

Added “Shinsengumi”. Slight re-ordering of movies: pushed “Bushido Blade” where it belongs (dead last), and moved “Incident At Blood Pass” up to where I think it belongs in the mix.
