Interesting Graffiti in Reykjavik

Add to my lists | Print this list

A small list of some places with interesting graffiti and street art in Reykjavik. Feel free to add places and pieces to it as you see fit. I’m starting with 101, since it’s full of graffiti and since most tourist will spend the greatest amount of time here..

Not working on this atm. though I might still add a piece every now and then..

Mainly I’ve stopped since I didn’t get any reply from the person that requested this.

I still think this is a list that should be worked on. We have some good street art here, though there is a little to much tagging in 101 sometimes.

Maybe there will also be less need for this type of list once more people start to geotag their pics.

For now I’m trying to add pieces that are at or next to some other known places. Especially places that might be interesting to people interested in street art. (such as the Living Art Museum and the Museum of Photography (both of which also don’t have any entry fee).

The works of Erró in the Reykjavik Art Museum, Hafnarhús, the works of Ásmundur Sveinsson in the Ásmundur Sveinsson Museum or the sculptures of Guðný Magnúsdóttir in Studio Umbra might also be of intrest, to name a few.

Check out the map too! :)

There are also some pieces in Listagil in Akureyri worth checking out if you’ll pass that way

Oh, and don’t get the wrong idea.. Reykjavik is pretty clean for the most part :D

But it’s also a creative place :D
