A mix of sentimental favourites, the good Aus Lit from school days and newer terrific reads.
If I were compiling the Australian fiction list for schools these are the books that would be on it because each of them tells us something about Australia and about the human condition while all being really enjoyable to read.
The list is in order of publication.
