Some hits, more misses — 1 year ago

Not a great list. Stella?? please.
No Chimay? of Leffe? No stouts or porters? Many better wheat beers than widmer.

Celebrator is a great doppel but not in the same category as Newcastle.

I’ll give you props for Sierra Pale Ale, Duvel and Belhaven. All top quality brews.

What’s the source of this list? Who decided these are the best?

If you go to RateBeer.com you’ll find that they have a top 50, which starts with a Sweden (Narke), followed by Westvleteren (Belgium) and tons of American beers. Also czech, danish, canadian make the cut. Most of the beers on this list above are mediocre.

My son says this should bump Newcastle. I haven’t tasted it. I have had Newcastle, which I like, but I am also a bit surprised that it rises to the top 10.
