Anthony Awards: Best Novel
The Anthony Awards are given annually at Bouchercon, the World Mystery Convention (which, despite its name, is almost always held in the US.) Both the award and the convention are named after Anthony Boucher (1911-1968), a writer and editor who also helped to found the Mystery Writers of America.
Awards are given for Best Novel, Best First Novel, Best Paperback Original, Best Short Story, Best TV Series, and Best Movie. The Best Critical Work Category was added in 1991. Best True Crime and Best Anthology were added in 1992. A plethora of other awards have also been awarded only once or twice over the years, like the Booksellers Award.
The conference started in 1970, but the official website only lists the awards given from 1986 on. If anyone knows the 1970-1985 winners, please add them.
