The book Run Baby Run is about a boy named Nicky Cruz who is from Puerto Rico and travels to New York City to live with his brother. When Nicky arrives he becomes a member of a gang called the Mau Mau’s. The Mau Mau’s are one of the most feared gangs in New York at the time. Nicky Cruz gets so much street credit that when the leader gets arrested he becomes the leader. Nicky then gets into a lot of street fights. Then every gang wants to kill him. One day a preacher comes and does something so unimaginable that even a fortune teller could not predict what would happen.
