where did the first elements of the list come from? — 2 years ago

I checked the James Beard website, which is where I think I got this list from, but it seems to have changed, and the first few books listed here are not to be found. I left them on the list, since I assume they must have won the award; before 1999, only two years have ‘cookbooks of the year’ awards listed. Perhaps these are now out of print, or merely out of favor. Or, perhaps, my original list was incorrect.
