These are my favorite songs. Some that make me want to dance, some that make me want to cry. Some that remind me of a time, place or person. Some just because they’re simply good. But these are all songs that make the hair on my arms stand up for whatever reason.

The Night I Painted The Sky - Jimmy Buffett — 2 years ago

This song is a favorite because for one, it’s a beautiful song, and it reminds me of my dad who passed away almost ten years ago. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July. We would always have a big party at the house, and everyone would have to participate in our little parade and march around the yard with american flags and kazoos. And anyone new to the family had to carry the big flag and lead the parade. Everyone tried to get out of it except the young kids, but it would make my father so happy, and to see him waving that flag with a big grin made it worth it. This song is about fireworks and people coming together to ‘forget about their differences for awhile’... I know my dad would love this song. I wish he would have had the chance to hear it…
