The Australian/Vogel Literary Award - Winners
An annual award sponsored by The Australian newspaper and Vogel bread for an unpublished manuscript by an author under 35 years of age. It is the richest and most prestigious award for an unpublished manuscript in Australia. The Australian/Vogel Literary Award was first awarded in 1980 to Paul Radley, who was later disqualified on his admission that the book was actually written by his uncle – who was over 35 years old. The prize was awarded to joint winners in 1981, 1982 and 2003, and no prize was awarded in 1985.
