Gospel Music Association's "Dove Award Rock Album of the Year Winners"
Since 1969, the Dove Awards have been presented to those recognized by Christian music artists, producers, and other industry insiders. In 1976, recognizing the increasing diversity of musical styles utilizing Christian lyrics, the Gospel Music Association broke apart their "Album of the Year" category into several smaller, more niched genre categories. This category, however, wasn’t established until 1988.
